PlanPro Custom Modules: Greater Flexibility and Clarity

PlanPro evolves in close collaboration with our clients, whose experience and feedback help us continuously improve the software. One result of this collaboration is the development of Custom Modules, which allow organisations to adapt PlanPro to their specific workflows and information needs.

Custom Modules help organisations structure their information more effectively, reduce the amount of data stored in the Action Plans module, and establish connections between different areas of the organisation.

What Are Custom Modules?

PlanPro consists of different modules that support organisational management processes. Custom Modules are additional modules that key users can create based on their organisation’s workflows and name according to their intended purpose.

Custom Modules can also be used to manage information that does not fit into the existing modules. This allows organisations to organise different types of data in dedicated modules instead of managing everything in the Action Plans module, external registers or multiple Excel files.

Information stored in Custom Modules is not isolated from the rest of the software. It can be linked to data in other PlanPro modules, including strategy, risks and activities. This helps reduce information fragmentation and provides a clearer overview of how different management processes are connected.

What Can Custom Modules Be Used For?

The possible uses of Custom Modules depend on an organisation’s workflows and information management needs. Examples include:

  • Asset Management. Keep asset-related information in one place and link it to relevant activities, maintenance tasks and responsible persons.
  • Procurement Management. Gain a clearer overview of the current status of procurement processes and related activities.
  • Site Management. Keep site-related information in one place and link it to relevant activities, documents and responsible persons.
  • Audits and Standards. Structure control activities, responsibilities and deadlines, and link the necessary actions to other organisational management processes.

These are just a few examples of how Custom Modules can be used. They can also support other areas where information needs to be managed systematically and connected to the organisation’s wider management processes.

Using Custom Modules in Information Security Management: E-ITS and ISO 27001

Effective information security management requires an understanding of which risks affect an organisation’s business processes and assets, and how those risks are mitigated. A comprehensive overview of this information is also important when implementing the Estonian Information Security Standard (E-ITS) and ISO 27001.

In PlanPro, organisations can create dedicated Custom Modules called “Assets”, “Business Processes” and “Measures” to connect this information with existing risks and activities.

For example, the Risks module may contain a risk described as “Customer support system failure or data loss”. This risk can be linked to the customer support process described in the “Business Processes” module, as well as the information systems and databases managed in the “Assets” module.

Risk mitigation measures, such as regular backups and system monitoring, can be documented in the “Measures” module and linked to responsible persons and the activities required for implementation.

This approach makes it possible to trace a specific risk to the related business processes and assets, while also providing an overview of planned mitigation measures and the implementation status of related activities. All relevant information is connected and managed within a single environment.

When Should You Consider Introducing Custom Modules?

Custom Modules are worth considering when the Action Plans module has accumulated many different types of information, making it increasingly time-consuming to manage and find the necessary data. Moving specific types of information into dedicated modules helps keep the Action Plans module clear and well-organised.

Custom Modules also make it possible to bring information from separate files or systems into PlanPro. Having a single, up-to-date source of information reduces manual work and data duplication.

Information can be organised according to the needs of different user groups, assigned to responsible persons and linked to organisational objectives, risks and activities. This gives managers a more comprehensive overview and supports better-informed decisions.

A More Flexible Way to Manage Information

Custom Modules allow organisations to adapt PlanPro to their specific workflows and information needs. Whether the goal is to better structure existing information or manage additional areas within PlanPro, Custom Modules make it possible to do so as part of an integrated management system.

One Custom Module is included in the PlanPro Enterprise package. For other packages, Custom Modules are available at an additional cost. More information about pricing and terms is available here.
